The success of the AFLSC relies solely on volunteer help. This volunteer effort is not just from the board of the club but every family as well. Each family is required to volunteer for at least three projects to help the club. Because of the extreme need of things to be done, one of those projects needs to be during show week. Please be aware that some of the committees will meet several times to complete the work required. It is important that everyone volunteers to help make the current season and the annual show a success.

General Club Activities:

Testing - Help the test chair organize set-up and run the USFSA testing sessions.
Banquet- Plan the annual banquet
Fundraising- raise money
50th Anniversary planning
Pool: concession stand
Nominating Committee
Publicity

Pre-Show:

Props / Set- set construction, painting, assembling
Costumes- picking out costume for group numbers
Music - picking out music selections for groups
Publicity- poster distribution, newspaper, shopper, radio

During Show: (every family must choose at least one)

Prop Set Up- usually involves Thursday evening and Friday during the day of show week
Prop Tear Down- tear down set after Sunday Show
Flower Sales- selling flowers before the show and during intermissions
Programs Sales- stand at the door and sell programs
Food Sales- fundraising project during show week
Room Parent- help skaters change into costume, keep group together
Ticket Sales- selling tickets at the door

This is our major fundraiser for the year. It takes everyone to make it successful.
Some committees have a limited number of slots available. "First Come" on those positions.
All families will be required to work two shifts (app. 1:30 - 5:45) in the pool concession stand during the summer.
If your skater is a ALFSC member for the 2008-2009 season, these shifts would take in the summer of 2009.
(There is a buy-out option available.)
